The Freret Street corridor in Uptown is already known as a destination for artisanal food and beverages, and it’s about to get even more appetizing with the upcoming opening of Ruthie’s Frozen Custard. In a recent Facebook post, owner Adam Gerber said he’s been working on “creating a wonderful space with some of the best frozen custard you’ll ever have.”

According to permit filings with the City of New Orleans, the frozen custard spot at 2506 Jena St. will have a walk-up window, counter, banquette seating, back patio area with seating, and an ADA ramp. An opening date is planned for this spring or summer. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
