Known for eclectic beers, live music, king cakes, and more, Zony Mash Beer Project ended its all-too-short-run in June 2024. However, the former Gem Theater is set to be reborn as something completely different under the same owner, Adam Ritter. According to permit filings with the City of New Orleans, the brewery facility at 3940 Thalia St. will become an indoor baseball facility and snack bar called Swing Hub. The façade and appearance of the Gem Theater will remain intact.

Permit filings indicate the snack bar will serve pizza, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and similar fare via counter service with food runners. Alcohol will also be available.  What Now New Orleans was able to reach Ritter, and he declined to offer additional details for the time being.
