2026 is bringing Maryland its first taste of a viral DMV sensation. Flavor Hive, which won diners over with its “walking chips bags”, is opening its first location in the state next month, reports local media outlet MoCo Show.
Flavor Hive is moving into a 2,000 square foot storefront in the Montrose Shopping Center. The 5568 Randolph Road shop previously housed Shouk, a kosher vegetarian street food concept. Flavor Hive will certainly bring a different energy to the space; customers are particularly fond of the “bring your own” option, where they are invited to supply a bag of chips of their selection and Flavor Hive will load it with Halal meats or falafel and a selection of sauces and other toppings.
The Rockville store will be Flavor Hive’s first Maryland location. What began as a food truck has been making a concerted push towards brick-and-mortars, riding a well-earned wave of good press and internet buzz.
Maryland foodies don’t have much longer to wait to sample the concept’s cuisine; Flavor Hive ownership projects the eatery will be open the second week of February.
