Potbelly Sandwich Works Opening in Peoria

PotbellySandwich Works, the Chicago-born toasted sandwich shop, is opening a restaurant in Peoria.

Permits were filed with the City of Peoria to start construction on the restaurant at 24645 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway, Suite 104, next to Black Rock Coffee Bar, Dip Nail Spa, and StretchLab.

Franchise owner Adam Warda confirmed the news to What Now Phoenix, adding that construction is planned to commence early to mid-March and should be open for guests by late May or early June of 2026. The 1,430 square foot restaurant will feature seating for 12 people inside and will offer an additional 10-12 seats on its outdoor patio for lunchtime enjoyment. The Peoria restaurant is part of a multi-unit deal between Warda and Potbelly, with more locations to come in the future. Warda tells What Now Phoenix that his commitment to Potbelly comes from his belief in the superior quality of its food and service.

When it opens, Potbelly will serve the restaurants famous toasted sandwiches that range from a classic PB&J to its Pizza Melt with pepperoni, old-world capicola, crumbled meatball, smothered in marinara sauce, provolone, Italian seasoning, and mushrooms. The eatery also serves mac and cheese and a variety of soups — all designed to provide nourishing comfort to busy people on the go.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop started inside an antiques shop in Chicago. The shop started selling toasted sandwiches to customers. In 1977, the sandwiches took over and the space was transformed into the first Potbelly. Since then, Potbelly has grown  It was transformed into a dedicated sandwich shop in 1977, later expanding from a single location into a major national chain.
