City Winery, the combination wine bar, restaurant, and live music venue, is coming to Scottsdale.

The New York-based wine bar has just signed a lease to open at The Sydney, a major entertainment and retail development that will be located on Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community land on 90th Street and Loop 101. City Winery expects to break ground toward the end of 2026, with a 2027 opening date.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, City Winery will be a massive three-story facility, encompassing 30,000 square feet of space, and will be the first in the southwest region of the country.

Michael Dorf founded City Winery in 2008 in New York City to offer a bit of wine country to city dwellers. Each location features a working winery, made with grapes sourced from some of the country’s best vineyards. Food menus are created specifically to pair with its selections of wine — many of them offered on tap.

City Winery also offers a robust calendar of live concerts, comedy, wine tastings, wine educations classes, and social events. Upcoming headliners include 10,000 Maniacs, Emmylou Harris, and Patti Austin. In addition, City Winery hosts private events and offers a Vinofile wine club for enthusiasts looking to further their wine explorations.

City Winery has grown in popularity, with locations in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, and more.
