A Myrtle Beach barbecue joint has reopened under new ownership after shutting down for good.

Old South BBQ, formerly known as Old South BBQ Company and located at 1020 Sea Mountain Hwy, will now be run by father-daughter team Kenny Hyatt and Heather Zanfardino, according to a Facebook post.

“Ever since we started our restaurant journey in 2023, we’ve been riding the wave of excitement & chaos, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!!! We’re bringing back BBQ to this lovely town, and we can’t wait to share the experience with our community! Old South BBQ is set to shine brighter than ever in 2026!!!” the post read.

This marks their third restaurant, as the duo are seasoned restaurateurs behind North Myrtle Beach favorites Salty Brews and Cha House.

Known for its barbecue, the restaurant will continue serving fan favorites like pulled pork, chicken, ribs, barbecue butt, hot dogs, hamburgers, and wings, while also planning to expand the menu, The Sun News reported.

Other updates include a refreshed logo designed by Myrtle Beach’s Fin First, along with plans to remodel the interior with new finishes and a fresh coat of paint.

The restaurant hasn’t announced an official reopening date yet, but its Facebook page reads: “OPENING SOON!!” Follow along for updates.
