Denver’s longstanding craft brewery, Goldspot Brewing, officially shut down on Sunday, February 1. The closure brings an end to the brewery’s 11-year run in Denver’s highly competitive craft beer scene. Goldspot confirmed the decision through a series of social media posts, thanking its customers, partners, and employees for their support.
Goldspot Brewing Ended 11 Years of its Journey
Goldspot Brewing was a Denver craft brewery that built a loyal local following. Since its opening in 2015, it has been more than a spot to have great brews. Its taproom served as a welcoming gathering place for a wide range of community members.
The brewery was also proud of its continuous change of on-site brewed beers, which gave a variety of styles and flavors that made the taps refreshing and enjoyable to use regularly.
The landlord of the building in which Goldspot was housed decided to sell the space, leading to the brewery’s unexpected closure. Despite challenges with the space, the brewery described its run as a meaningful journey for both staff and longtime patrons.
In addition to beer, Goldspot Brewing had been able to create a sense of belonging through entertainment and events. The brewery used to hold weekly trivia nights, drag brunch, drag bingo, live comedy, and open mic nights, bringing people together for shared experiences.
The team wrote, “This place holds so many memories: special beers, meaningful collaborations, unforgettable events, and the amazing staff and community who brought it all to life. We’re especially proud of the charities we’ve supported and the countless moments of connection and joy shared within these walls. Saying goodbye is deeply bittersweet”.

Pop-Ups and Brewability to Carry Goldspot Forward
Although the physical taproom of Goldspot is closed, the brand is not disappearing entirely. According to posts shared on Instagram, Goldspot will maintain its interaction with the community by organizing pop-up events and collaborations.
“Goldspot isn’t going away. For now, we’ll continue with distribution and look forward to hosting events all across Colorado as we shape what comes next. Be on the lookout for #whereintheworldiskelissa as I pop up in locals spots featuring our beers in this transition”.
Brewability is one of the locations where the presence of Goldspot will persist. It is a Denver-based pizzeria and brewery with a focus on hiring disabled adults. Goldspot auctioned its furniture and other belongings. The brewery also celebrated its final week to honor the journey of 11 years and announced its Brewability pop-ups on weekends.
All these pop-ups and groupings are meant to keep the creative energy and community spirit of Goldspot going.

Goldspot also integrated philanthropy into its business. Many of its taps were donation-based, with a portion of proceeds benefiting nonprofits chosen by staff. Through this, customers could have a drink and do good at the same time.
The blend of innovative brewing, community involvement, and warm hospitality helped shape its identity as a beloved local destination.
The shutting of Goldspot Brewing is the culmination of a permanent mark on the Denver craft beer landscape. Goldspot had created a community. At its core, Goldspot emphasized inclusivity and hospitality.
The craft beer industry continues to face headwinds, with increased closures across local markets. Rising competition, inflation, and changing consumer habits have made it increasingly difficult for independent breweries to stay afloat.
