About the Journey of the Brewery
Angel City Brewery was founded in 1997 to produce approachable, locally brewed beers. In late 2010, it moved to the Arts District. Throughout the years, the brewery has increased its portfolio to include a wide range of styles, from IPAs and lagers to seasonal and experimental releases.
Beyond its beer, Angel City Brewery became a community hub, hosting art exhibitions, live music, trivia nights, and charity events. Its mass production plant and taproom contributed to its status as a pillar of the craft beverage culture of the Arts District, particularly in the initial years of the development of the independent brewing culture in LA.
The shutdown is an indication that the brewery will be leaving a bigger footprint in the once-vibrant craft beer market in Los Angeles. The Arts District taproom was an amalgamation of beer, art, and community for over a decade. Angel City helped shape the modern craft beer culture in Los Angeles, leaving a lasting legacy in the Arts District.
