The countdown is officially on for the arrival of what is certain to be one of the DC hospitality scene’s hottest newcomers. Lagos District Restaurant and Lounge is preparing for its soft opening, and promises to bring “cocktails, culture, and cuisine” with it.

Lagos has taken tangible steps towards opening its 1627 K Street, N.W., Suite 100 home; ownership has applied for a liquor license, which supplies some salient details about the venue. According to the protest notice from the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration, Lagos District Restaurant and Lounge will have a seating capacity of 60, and the hours of operation will be from Sunday through Saturday, from 11 am to 3 am.

While these clinical details are important, District residents are probably more interested in learning about the nature of the concept and its opening date. Fortunately, the wait is coming to an end. The official Lagos website has a countdown clock stating that the soft opening is 18 days away.

The Lagos Instagram account offers just enough information to pique the interest of future customers; posts show the progression of a sophisticated space and promise that “A new era of food, music, and nightlife is on the way.”
