A new adults-only neighborhood bar focused on “kicking back, catching up and staying awhile” is coming to Mount Pleasant.

Decoy, from Rod and Alli Bradley and Andy Reed of Dog & Duck, will open at 1055 S.C. 41, Suite 600, in the former space of The Basement, according to a Facebook announcement.

“We do have a new family member to introduce: DECOY. Think cold beer, well-made drinks, and good company taking center stage in a laid-back space made just for adults,” the post read.

The announcement drew an enthusiastic response on social media, with commenters sharing messages like “Congrats!” and “So excited!”

Several commenters also wondered whether The Basement’s infamous pretzel would make a comeback. Alli told The Post & Courier it will be “resurrected,” with the team putting its own twist on it with a housemade beer cheese.

They plan to round out the menu with familiar Dog & Duck staples, as well as shareables, handhelds and wings. Cocktails and a beer selection will be featured, supported by a recent installation of new draft lines.

An official opening date has not yet been announced for Decoy, but a post shared by the team reads: “We look forward to welcoming yall. Stay tuned for opening deets.” Follow along on Facebook for grand opening updates.
