Spring brings new life in all different forms; fresh flowers, baby chicks and ducks, and this year,a new favorite hangout for Memphis locals. J Woods Sports Bar is attaining permits and moving closer to its Harbor Town debut, set to occur after the winter thaw.

J Woods is bringing “big screens, games, drinks, food, and good company” to 103 Harbor Town SQ. The brand-new concept is collecting the permits necessary to facilitate its opening; the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development issued J Woods its commercial electrical permit on February 9, and a sign permit is still in the works.

Owner Jason Greenwood generously provided What Now Memphis with a sneak-peak of what J Woods has in store for the community, saying: “J Woods will be a 43-seat neighborhood sports bar focused on a premium viewing experience, elevated finishes, and a comfortable Harbor Town vibe. We’ll feature a large format TV wall, curated beer, wine, and cocktail selections, along with a limited food menu designed to compliment the bar experience. A place residents can walk to for big games or just a relaxed evening out.”

While a firm opening date is not available yet, Greenwood says that J Woods is on track for an April opening. He adds: “Construction is moving steadily, and we’re finalizing the interior buildout and mechanical updates.”

J Woods has a Facebook page live and operational for future regulars hoping to follow along for updates about the debut. Greenwood states that the bar’s official website will launch in early March, providing important updates and valuable details.
