A popular and prolific Memphis food truck is preparing to put down some permanent roots. TacoNGanas is getting ready to begin construction on a new brick-and-mortar that maintains all of the charms of the mobile dining experience, reports Daily Memphian.
The popular taco joint will be moving into a 977 square foot storefront located at 2130 Whitten Road. The Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development is reviewing a commercial new construction permit for TacoNGanas as of February 2 of this year.
The permit describes the eatery’s plan for its space as “Prefabricated building for drive thru and walk-up ordering kitchen and restrooms.” suggesting that TacoNGanas will maintain the relaxed and chill dining experience established by the food truck.
The food truck in question-one of several owned and operated by TacoNGanas founder Greg Diaz-is currently serving up the concept’s cuisine on the business’s lot. TacoNGanas has become a Memphis main-stay, thanks to its stated ethos: “Taconganas means hunger. Hustle. Heart. And that’s exactly what we put into every taco — and into this city that’s helped us grow.”
