Downtown Tacoma is set to welcome a new speakeasy-style lounge, offering guests a journey back to the Prohibition era.
Ricky’s Lounge, owned by Santino Telles, will open at 1111 Tacoma Ave. S.. according to the website.
“Our true to vision layout will impress you with our look that is one that moves away from the usual idea of a speakeasy, and takes you into a world of private spaces and nostalgia. We aim to provide a space that is both intimate and inclusive. We want to provide an experience that will keep you coming as our look and atmosphere will be one to leave an impression,” the website reads.
With live, soothing jazz in the air, guests can enjoy a curated cocktail menu featuring bourbon and tequila specialties, served at a bar top crafted from scratch.
The menu will feature a seasonal micro menu of authentic Mexican dishes, including enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, taquitos, traditional soups and desserts.
“The food selection is underway. Remember, this is authentic grandmas and my mother’s recipes, so be ready. DISCLAIMER, we do not make mild salsas, all will probably be hot depending on the season for peppers,” Telles wrote in a Feb. 11 blog post on the website.
Telles said the team is finalizing permits and finishing renovations, though they have not set an official opening date. Visit the Ricky’s Lounge website for grand opening updates.
