Chez Rita, a local village restaurant, is preparing to reopen in Saint-Tite-des-Caps at 334 Route 138.

The restaurant’s reopening comes under a new management agreement reached in December between owner Sébastien Vachon and managers Alexandrine Richard and Jonathan Breton, according to Le Soleil. Vachon, who has owned the establishment since 2023 and operated it for approximately one year, will cover infrastructure costs for the first year, while Richard and Breton will assume responsibility for salaries and suppliers. Operations are scheduled to begin gradually in mid-May, initially opening two or three days per week. Customers can expect a renewed focus on serving both residents and travelers along Route 138.

Vachon is also the CEO of Korem and publicly posted a call for candidates on social media to help revive the restaurant. After reviewing applicants, he selected Richard and Breton to lead the next chapter of Chez Rita. The new management team has already relocated to the municipality to integrate into the community ahead of the spring opening. The transition marks a shift from owner-operated management to a partnership structure intended to stabilize operations.

Breton brings experience from both front-of-house and management roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and began working as a bartender during his studies, then advanced to restaurant management. He participated in the opening of several Shaker locations and was previously a partner at Mila Ristorante in Quebec City’s Saint-Roch district. Richard has worked in the restaurant industry since the age of 16, holding positions as a waitress, bartender, and head waitress, and is currently pursuing studies in accounting and marketing.

Together, the pair plan to position Chez Rita as a welcoming gathering place for the municipality. Their approach centers on steady operations, community engagement, and long-term sustainability under the one-year financial framework established with Vachon.

“Great news for Municipalité de Saint Tite des Caps,” Vachon announced on social media in December 2025. “Catherine Lessard and I are very happy to announce that we have found our two young caterers for the Village Restaurant. Alexandrine Richard and Jonathan Breton are a passionate, authentic, and driven couple, and we had a real crush on their vision. So we decided to go with them and support them to give them a good helping hand to start this new journey. Opening of the restaurant planned in spring, just in time to fully enjoy the terrace season. We are very proud of this new chapter and convinced that this project will be like our municipality: human, unifying, and warm.”
