Blue Bottle Coffee, a trendy cafe chain known for upscale coffee drinks, pastries, and specialty beans, is getting ready to open in Mission Viejo at The Shops at Mission Viejo.
The company’s second Orange County location will join the fresh lineup of dining and retail in the under-construction Outdoor Village, according to 926oc. While an exact opening date has not been announced, customers can expect Blue Bottle’s signature offerings, including handcrafted espresso drinks, pour-over coffee, matcha lattes, pastries, and beans and brewing equipment for home preparation.
Founded in Los Angeles, Blue Bottle Coffee has built a reputation for meticulous sourcing, small-batch roasting, and cafe-quality beverages. The brand has 18 locations in Los Angeles, one in Orange County, and several others in San Diego. Each cafe focuses on ethically sourced coffee, artisanal drinks, and seasonal offerings designed to bring a premium coffee experience to local communities.
The Shops at Mission Viejo has been expanding its footprint with new retail and dining options in the Outdoor Village. The project includes other well-known restaurants, such as North Italia and Pacific Catch, as well as retailers like Arhaus. Blue Bottle’s arrival adds a specialty coffee option for shoppers and complements the mall’s ongoing upgrades to create a modern, community-focused space.
Blue Bottle Coffee’s menu highlights a mix of hot and cold espresso drinks, pour-over coffees, matcha beverages, and seasonal specialties. Customers can also purchase whole bean coffee, instant blends, and curated brewing tools. Pastries and light snacks are prepared fresh daily, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on quality and consistency.
This will be an excellent landing spot for Blue Bottle Coffee, given the Outdoor Village’s combination of foot traffic, green spaces, and a modern retail environment. The location allows customers to enjoy upscale coffee and pastries while exploring a vibrant mix of dining and shopping options in South Orange County.
