A new chapter is unfolding at a familiar space in Folsom.
Sweet Williams Tavern is set to open at 312 East Bidwell St, taking over the space once home to Tonno’s Bar & Grill, which had expanded from its original Orangevale location in 2023 but closed its Folsom doors just weeks ago. The original Orangevale spot continues to serve its signature comfort fare.
Behind Sweet Williams is Heather Bailey, a longtime bartender and bar manager in the Sacramento area. Bailey told What Now Sacramento that the tavern is a way to memorialize her father, a Vietnam veteran who passed away last year in a golfing accident. The space, she said, is meant to honor both family and community while creating a spot where locals can gather, eat well, and unwind.
Sweet Williams Tavern will focus on classic American fare with “a high emphasis on food,” Bailey explained. Patrons can expect options like burgers, shareable plates, and hearty entrees. Brunch is planned for weekends beginning in April, while a late-night menu will be available after 9 or 10 p.m.
The bar will feature a full selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, and entertainment will include karaoke nights, though details on timing and themes are still being finalized.
Sweet Williams Tavern is currently hiring, with a grand opening to be announced in the future. The new tavern promises to bring a fresh energy to Folsom, honoring both the neighborhood’s past and Bailey’s family legacy.
