Romados, the legendary Portuguese restaurant known for its grilled chicken and Pasteis de Nata, is opening a new location in Laval at 1773 Boul des Laurentides in the Vimont neighborhood.
The company’s second location will be led by original owner George Karaglanis, who has been running Romados since 1994. While the original Montreal location remains at 115 Rachel East, the Laval location is planned to open on March 15th, according to a company representative. Fans were invited to guess the new location on Romados’ social media channels for a chance to win a $100 gift card.
Founded in 1994, Romados has become a staple of Montreal’s Portuguese dining scene, celebrated for its flame-grilled chicken, hearty sandwiches, and classic desserts like Pasteis de Nata. The original location has maintained a loyal following over nearly three decades, serving locals and visitors with its signature menu and casual, welcoming atmosphere.
The Laval site marks the first expansion outside Montreal, bringing Romados’ iconic flavors to a new region. While the core menu of Portuguese chicken and sandwiches will remain, the new location will also feature a few additional authentic Portuguese dishes exclusive to this branch, broadening the offerings for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Customers can expect the same roasted chicken, house-made sides, and beloved pastries that have defined Romados for nearly 30 years. The team emphasizes that the expansion is not a departure from tradition but an opportunity to share their cuisine with a broader audience while maintaining quality and authenticity.
With the new Laval location, Romados is positioning itself to reach more Portuguese food enthusiasts across Quebec. The March opening will offer locals an accessible spot to enjoy the same legendary dishes, continuing the restaurant’s mission of serving top-quality Portuguese cuisine in a friendly, community-focused environment.
