The owners of Vietnamese restaurant The Bamiti are planning a Vietnamese-European fusion bakery in the Beaverton Central Garage, according to a resolution from the Beaverton Urban Redevelopment Agency (BURA). The upcoming bakery is registered under the name Lumiere Bakery, though it is unclear if that will be the final name of the business.

The proposed bakery is owned by husband and wife co-owners Chef Ben Vu and Yumi Vu, who opened The Bamiti in Bethany Village in 2024. According to the resolution, Vu’s bakery will offer, “morning baked goods, afternoon coffee with delectable pairings, and works of art for dessert after dinner.”

The Beaverton Central Parking Garage is owned by BURA, a city agency devoted to revitalizing downtown Beaverton. Construction of the seven-story parking garage wrapped in 2022, complete with 6,700 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, of which Lumiere Bakery will occupy 1,479 square feet.

The upcoming bakery does not have an opening date as of yet. What Now Portland has reached out to Vu for more information.
