A new lifestyle destination hotel featuring two dining concepts is set to open in Charleston.
The Lowline Hotel, located on Charleston’s King Street and formerly the Hyatt Place Charleston Historic District, was acquired by Highline Hospitality in 2024. The group, which owns 17 hotels across the U.S., also purchased the neighboring Hyatt House, according to a press release.
The new hotel will be the first of its kind in the southeastern U.S. to join JdV by Hyatt, an independent lifestyle collection within the Hyatt brand. It will embody the brand’s message of “Joie de Vivre,” meaning “the joy of life.”
The Lowline Hotel will offer 197 guest rooms and suites, along with amenities such as a private dining room with a golf simulator, an indoor pool and a nearly 8,000-square-foot event space for corporate gatherings, celebrations and weddings.
The hotel’s dining offerings, still under wraps, will include a signature indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar. It will celebrate Charleston’s culinary culture and is designed as a secluded garden oasis with lush greenery. The second concept will be a coffee shop serving local provisions.

The Lowline Hotel will also provide access to the Lowcountry Lowline, a planned linear park and multiuse trail designed to connect pedestrians across downtown Charleston.
One of Highline Hospitality’s managing partners said the new hotel represents “design, culture and elevated hospitality.”
“Our vision was to create a property that is not only reflective of Charleston’s rich heritage but also anticipates the evolving expectations of today’s discerning traveler. Every detail has been considered to deliver a sense of place, a connection to community, and an experience that feels both authentic and transformative,” Chuck Pomerantz said in a statement.
The Lowline Hotel plans to debut in summer 2026, though an official opening date has not yet been announced.
