Butter Bar, a specialty retail store focused on gourmet flavoured butters, is getting ready to open its first permanent location in Port Credit at 1006 Lagoon Street.
The store will be the brand’s first brick-and-mortar location, with an expected opening in Spring 2026, according to BlogTO. While an exact date has not been announced, customers can look forward to a variety of sweet and savory butters, including pumpkin spice maple, truffle garlic and thyme, and cinnamon sugar nutmeg, along with curated gift items, serveware, and daily tastings.
Butter Bar was founded in 2018 by Kate Engineer, who has sold her small-batch, freshly churned butter at local markets, pop-ups, and online across the Greater Toronto Area. The products are made from local cream, feature seasonal flavours, and contain no additives.
The Port Credit location will provide a permanent retail space for tastings, gift curation, and product exploration. The business intends to feature Canadian-made and locally sourced products wherever possible, continuing its focus on quality ingredients and seasonal creations.
Offerings at the store include savoury varieties such as basil-lemon-garlic, thyme-sage, and rosemary, and pepper-garlic, alongside sweet flavours like pumpkin spice, maple, and cinnamon-sugar nutmeg. Additional items include gift sets, butter boards, and serving accessories, all designed for everyday use or gifting.
Since its founding, Butter Bar has grown from a home-based business into a local brand with a loyal following. The Port Credit store will be its first permanent retail location in Canada, giving customers a dedicated space to experience flavoured butters and related products.
