A board game cafe will be joining Grant Park this year. Meeples Games and Goods will open at 1039 Grant. Owner Inez Falcon-Haus told What Now Atlanta that the team is targeting a late summer opening, though it will depend on permitting and construction.

The space will feature a board game library where people can play as many games as they want for a one-time fee. There will also be coffee, baked goods, beer and wine. Falcon-Haus is also looking to partner with local brands for food offerings.

The spot will be open from late afternoon to late at night. It is designed to be family-friendly, with game offerings specifically for children.

“We want to make it comfortable for people to stay and play,” Falcon-Haus said. “We want to make an environment where people want to come with their friends and family.”

Meeples will feature an open floor plan and comfortable tables and chairs designed to cater to various group sizes. A permit filing also indicates plans for retail sale of board games and hobby goods at the cafe.

“What we’re trying to do is build community,” Falcon-Haus said. “We’re really excited to get started. We hope to be a place that brings people together. It’s going to be right off the Beltline so it’ll bring not only the immediate Grant Park community, but also anyone else from the city who really loves board games and wants a place to spend time with people and have some good food.”
