Good times and great beer are making a triumphant return to a DC storefront later this year. Right Proper Kitchen will be bringing a brand new set of suds to the former home of Brookland Pint, with an opening planned for spring, reports local media outlet PoPville.
Right Proper will be bringing “Beer for the Soul. Food for the Belly.” to 716 Monroe Street, NE next month. A precise opening date has not yet been announced, however a social media post included on the company’s Instagram page states that the location will be customer ready at some point in April.
Based on the comments community members left on Right Proper’s announcement, locals couldn’t be more excited to welcome craft beer back to the storefront, following Brookland Pint’s closure in May of 2025.
The family-owned brewery already has a Brookland presence; the company has a tasting room in the neighborhood. A second location is sure to be a welcome addition to the area, given Right Proper’s professed mission: “Right Proper is a responsible, community focused brewing company creating soulful, intentional, balanced beers, presented with brilliant hospitality and a touch of whimsy.”
