A new food truck will soon be taking authentic Philly cheesesteaks on the road in St. Augustine. It’s called Davo’s Philly Cheesesteaks, and it plans to launch this spring.

“Davo’s Cheesesteaks is bringing something the South has never had before – the real Philly cheesesteak experience,” owner David DiNenna said in a post published to the Facebook group Nocatee Share and Support Small Business. “I’m an Italian from Philly who has been cheesesteak obsessed for over four decades. This isn’t a copy or someone’s version of a cheesesteak – it’s the real thing.”

The post provides still more details about Davo’s cheesesteaks, saying each sandwich is served with the following:

  • Premium shaved ribeye
  • Cooper Sharp American cheese
  • Fried onions if you prefer it “wit”
  • Davo’s signature Jawn Sauce for an extra kick
  • Classic whole hot cherry peppers on the side
  • The perfect meat-to-roll ratio
  • A beautiful, stellar cross-section

What Now reached out to DiNenna on Friday to ask about plans for the new food truck. DiNenna was not immediately available for comment.

There are more details yet to be revealed about Davo’s Philly Cheesesteaks, but its promise is clear: “Authentic Philly Flavor — Real Ribeye, Fresh Baked Rolls, Homemade Jawns. Right Here in the Ancient City.
