Astemo Americas to Close Tallapoosa Manufacturing Plant
Astemo Americas, Inc. has announced the permanent closure of its manufacturing facility at 550 Honda Parkway, Tallapoosa, Georgia 30176. The closure is leading to employee layoffs at the facility. The company has filed the notice under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
The plant will close on or around May 1, 2026, and out of the total 89 employees, 60 will be laid off. The company cited unforeseen business circumstances for the sudden closure and layoffs. As a result, the company said it could not provide 60 days’ advance notice.
On March 25, a key customer of the company informed that it would be cancelling its contract with the company regarding all four of the vehicle model parts produced at the facility. Severe business disruption led to the decision to close the facility.
