Chef John Currence’s Big Bad Breakfast is making its way to Murfreesboro. It has taken a lease at 113 E. Main St., previously home to City Cafe, according to the Boro Pulse.

Currence began to conceptualize the brand in 2008, and it now has 29 locations listed on its website across nine states. Locations in the Nashville area include a spot on Charlotte Avenue, a location in Franklin and a spot in Spring Hill.

The breakfast-and-lunch restaurant features Southern-inspired food, including a biscuit crumble, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, and a huevos rancheros grit bowl. Other offerings include omelets, pancakes, waffles, skillets, and lunch fare such as burgers, sandwiches and salads. Beverage offerings include coffee and cocktails, including the Big Bad Bloody Mary.

Big Bad Breakfast was not immediately available for comment. What Now Nashville is awaiting updates on the opening timeline.
