Tigawok, a fast-casual restaurant known for its Chinese-inspired mini bowl concept, is preparing to open a new location in San Diego at 8657 Villa La Jolla Drive, Suite 103.

The company’s newest location will move into the former home of Voqozo, situated between Ike’s Love and Sandwiches and The Kebab Shop within La Jolla Village Square, according to documents submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, this marks Tigawok’s sixth overall location.

Tigawok currently operates locations in Los Angeles, Burbank, and Irvine, and has been steadily building its presence with a streamlined format focused on speed and variety. The concept centers around allowing customers to choose a base and pair it with multiple entree options, creating flexible combinations. Its Irvine restaurant has already introduced the brand to Orange County diners, with additional sites in Chino Hills and Lake Forest in development.

The La Jolla Village Square location places Tigawok in a busy retail center near UC San Diego, surrounded by a mix of office workers, students, and nearby residential communities. The shopping center is known for its mix of dining and everyday retail, making it a practical fit for the brand’s fast-casual approach. This will be an excellent landing space for Tigawok, given the steady foot traffic and built-in customer base.

Menu offerings include orange peel chicken, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, and wagyu curry, along with sides like chow mein and fried rice. Customers can select two or three entree bowls, mixing proteins and flavors into a single meal. Smaller items like soup dumplings and pork buns are also available, along with several vegetarian-friendly dishes.

Tigawok’s format is built around efficiency and consistency, with a menu that rotates periodically to introduce new items while maintaining core favorites. The brand continues to focus on approachable pricing and quick preparation, aiming to serve a wide range of customers across its growing list of locations.
