A new chapter is taking shape for beloved Diamond Springs butcher shop Kings Meats, as the family-run business moves forward with plans for its second location in El Dorado Hills Town Center.
Owner and butcher Casey King confirmed that the upcoming shop will take over a 4,000-square-foot-plus space, tucked just behind OBO’ (formerly Sellands) at 4370 Town Center Blvd, Suite 110.
“This is a location we have been wanting to expand into for at least three years now,” King told What Now Sacramento. “I am happy to say that things are finally moving in that direction.”
A longtime butcher who has worked in the trade since 1993, King launched Kings Meats in Diamond Springs on February 12, 2020—just one month before the world shut down. Despite the timing, the shop quickly found its footing as an essential business and community staple.
“This was a terrible time for everyone, but an essential business like a retail butcher shop, we were allowed to be open,” King said. The early months, he added, gave customers a chance to get to know both the business and its guiding values firsthand: quality products, strong guest service, cleanliness, and transparency.
Today, Kings Meats has built a reputation as more than just a butcher counter. Guests can find everything from Wagyu, dry-aged cuts, and upper-tier Choice beef sourced from Washington and Idaho, to Beeler’s Pure Pork, Smart Chicken, house-made sausages, marinated tri-tip, and deli meats.
The market side of the business has also become a destination in its own right, offering specialty cheeses, fresh produce, locally sourced pies, meals, breads, eggs, coffee beans, sauces, marinades, rubs, and oils.
At the upcoming El Dorado Hills location, King hopes to expand the experience even further with to-go wine and beer options and a more elevated specialty cheese program, creating what he describes as a true “steakhouse-quality” experience.
“We are over the top excited to be part of Town Center and all of the amazing businesses there,” King said. If all goes as planned, the new Kings Meats location will open in September 2026.
