Argentina has a large Italian population, and this distinct cross-pollination has inspired a new concept being planned for 57 7th Ave. S, according to documents filed with the city. Taking over the former Sabor Argentino, this West Village concept will feature a menu that highlights a rich blend of culinary traditions, ranging from fresh burrata and fried calamari to Argentinian empanadas. One section of the menu will be dedicated to Argentinian-style grilled beef, with cuts like boneless ribeye, skirt steak, and short ribs. Desserts include flan with dulce de leche and tres leches cake.
The planned restaurant will have a beer and wine license while maintaining a family-friendly vibe. It will feature a cozy 700-square-foot interior with 17 seats and sidewalk café seating. Permit documents filed with the city indicate the concept is yet to be named, operating under Romaee LLC. It is slated to operate daily from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. What Now New York has reached out for more information.
