Genghis Cohen, the beloved Los Angeles restaurant that serves classic New York-style Chinese dishes, is opening a Miami Beach outpost.
The restaurant, by Marc Rose and Med Abrous of Los Angeles’ Call Mom hospitality group are bringing the much-loved restaurant to 1801 Purdy Avenue in Sunset Harbour – the former Sardinia space. The restaurant is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026 — just in time for the holiday season.
The Miami Beach location will offer all of Genghis Cohen’s favorite dishes that have made the restaurant a hit with a loyal following. Get ready to indulge in egg rolls, queen chicken, crab rangoon, and other classics, paired with tiki-inspired cocktails.
The opening of the Miami Beach restaurant is a culmination of years of planning for both Rose and Abrous, who have been coming to Miami Beach for years with the goal of bringing the beloved restaurant to the Magic City. They finally set sights on the space and its perfect blend of walkability and proximity to the beach.
With the opening of Genghis Cohen, New York transplants will no longer have to hop a plane to get their beloved Chinese food — it will now be in their neighborhood.
