Florence-raised restaurateur Jessi Qilafi is bringing a new concept to Alpharetta this summer. Tuscan-inspired Fiorenza Italian will bring an Italian dining experience to 11500 Webb Bridge Way in retail center Agincourt, according to a release.
Qilafi will draw inspiration from his time growing up in Florence, providing a more focused Italian menu that hones in on regional cuisine. The goal is to provide an experience that transports customers to Florence and to serve as a neighborhood Italian restaurant.
“You don’t need to go to Florence — you can come here and have an authentic experience,” Qilafi told What Now Atlanta. “That was the inspiration.”
The atmosphere will feature an upscale yet casual environment. The menu will feature Tuscan dishes and house-made pastas. Signature dishes will include Pappardelle al Ragù, Pici Cacio e Pepe and Bistecca alla Fiorentina. Executive chef Eugene Thompson, who has more than 18 years of experience at spots such as Oak Steakhouse, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse and Zakia, will helm the kitchen.
Jesus Ramirez (Palo Santo, Cooks & Soldiers, Storico Fresco) will lead the beverage program, which will focus on Italian wines and a craft cocktail program.
“In Florence, dining is more than just food,” Qilafi said in the release. “It’s about tradition, family and creating memories. After more than 15 years working in restaurants across Italy, New York City and the metro Atlanta area, I’m proud to bring the flavors I grew up with to Alpharetta.”
