Located just west of Union Square, The Stand has become a nexus of comedy in the city during its 13 years, and now, the owners are planning a second location within the Chelsea Market called The Stand West. Permit documents filed with Community Board 4 show the second location will be a 140-person-capacity comedy club in the cellar level of the market at 407 W 15th St. The owners are pursuing a full liquor license, and there will be a small menu of Italian-influenced bar fare, including pizzas. An opening date has not been announced, and What Now New York has reached out for more information.

Owned by brothers Cris Italia and Paul Italia, along with Patrick Milligan, The Stand has been named best comedy club in the city by New York Magazine and Time Out New York. The owners also run a management company and were chosen as comedy bookers for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2015.
