That Italian Place, a Southern Italian restaurant known for its catering and homestyle cooking, is preparing to relocate following the closure of its Brampton location at 470 Chrysler Dr.

The company’s Brampton restaurant will remain open until May 30, according to Insauga, after which the business will focus on finding a new site. While an exact timeline and future address have not been announced, the owners confirmed on Instagram that they plan to reopen in a new location. The restaurant was founded by Gino Fuda, who launched the concept in 2006 after starting it as a catering operation in nearby Mississauga. Catering services will continue during the transition, ensuring ongoing operations while the relocation process unfolds.

That Italian Place originally expanded from catering into a full-service restaurant after building a customer base around its traditional Southern Italian menu. The Brampton location became its long-standing dining space, serving as the brand’s primary storefront for nearly two decades.

The concept has remained centered on family-style Italian cooking, with an emphasis on recipes rooted in tradition. The menu highlights “authentic Southern Italian family recipes” made with fresh daily ingredients, according to the business. Over the years, it has maintained a steady focus on both dine-in meals and catering services for private events.

Owner Gino Fuda and his team have indicated that the move is intended to continue the brand’s long-term presence in the region. While details on the next space remain undisclosed, the relocation signals a continuation of the restaurant’s original concept rather than a pause in operations, with customers expected to follow the brand into its next chapter.

“We promise to continue serving you in the months to come as we get our new location ready (to be determined),” according to a recent Instagram post from the company. “We will be ready for our fall season…catering and event functions will continue. All contact info to come shortly. You are our success, and we will be back at it soon.”
