Electric Wines, a wine shop and tasting lounge from former Addison wine director Victoria O’Bryan, is planning to open a new location in San Diego at 4644 30th Street in University Heights.

The company recently submitted a liquor license application to open in the former home of Lovesick Chapel. O’Bryan has confirmed with What Now San Diego that this will be the current planned location, though an exact opening timeline has not been set, as the project is still awaiting approvals. Once open, Electric Wines will offer a curated wine program alongside a neighborhood-focused tasting experience.

Electric Wines was originally planned for 4241 Park Boulevard, on the edge of Hillcrest and University Heights, but the concept has since shifted to 30th Street. O’Bryan, who previously served as wine director at the three-Michelin-star Addison, is leading the project independently. Her background in fine dining wine programs continues to shape the direction of the shop as it moves through the permitting process.

The concept is designed to function as both a retail wine shop and a casual tasting space. Early plans call for a rotating selection of wines sourced from international regions, with an emphasis on accessibility and education. O’Bryan has said the goal is to create a neighborhood wine shop where customers can explore different styles at their own pace.

Electric Wines will begin with a focused inventory of around 200 wines, with plans to expand the selection over time. The shop is also expected to include small-scale tasting events and educational programming once operations begin. The space is intended to grow into a more community-driven wine destination as it develops.

O’Bryan is an Advanced Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and is actively pursuing the Master Sommelier certification. Her approach to Electric Wines centers on making wine more approachable while still offering depth for more experienced drinkers. The new location on 30th Street places the concept within a highly walkable corridor of University Heights.
