“Largo’s new $85 million city hall has opened its doors on West Bay Drive, bringing together city services, community spaces and retail in one location as part of a broader downtown revitalization strategy,” said coverage published today by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. “Future tenants include Parlor Donuts, Louis Pappas Fresh Greek, Strachan’s Ice Cream, and The Tox.”
Meanwhile, this week, What Now came across plan review paperwork submitted for a new Strachan’s Ice Cream & Dessert at 440 West Bay in Largo. The location in question is on the planned for city hall.
What Now last heard from Strachan’s Ice Cream just over a year ago, publishing coverage of the brand’s planned 6th location, opening in Pinellas Park. At the time, owner co-owner John Krillies told What Now that another location was also in the pipeline—Largo appears to be it!
“Founded in Palm Harbor in 1999 by Bill and Susan Strachan, Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts has become a mainstay for anybody with a sweet tooth in the Tampa Bay region,” the What Now coverage said. “Strachan’s is known for a wide variety of sumptuous ice cream flavors including Carrot Cake, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Egg Nog, and Orange Pineapple—and that’s just a few taken at random.”
“We take our ice cream, confections and desserts seriously!” the Strachan’s website says. “Whether you want your ice cream in a cup, a homemade waffle cone, mixed into a shake, or served in a sundae, we want to make sure it exceeds your expectations! All of our ice cream and desserts are made onsite by our longstanding staffers to ensure you consistently get the best ice cream and desserts around. From our homemade fudge to our award-winning carrot cake and everything in between, we guarantee we can satisfy your sweet tooth!”
