This August, a new bagel shop is opening in Largo with authentic New York-style bagels. It’s called Two Daughters Bagels, and it promises to bring “New York Methods. New York Water. New York Bagels.” to the area.
“There’s a reason the great bagel shops of New York City have lines out the door every morning,” says the Two Daughters Bagels website. “It’s the water. It’s the fermentation. It’s the refusal to rush a single step.”
What Now became aware of the restaurant’s planned opening this week, after coming across plan review paperwork submitted by E&H Bagel Company, LLC for Two Daughters Bagels at 10593 Ulmerton Road.
The website promises a Specialty Coffee menu (“12 signature drinks, 18 syrups, premium beans”), plus 16 Cream Cheeses, Premium Lox, and additional Oversized Baked Goods (“Giant house-baked treats made in-house daily”).
Opening in the Ulmerton Road location, Two Daughters Bagels joins the Paradise Shops of Largo, a retail center anchored by The Home Depot and home to restaurants like Rosati’s Pizza and Steak ‘n Shake.
What Now reached out on Friday to owner Justin Miller to ask about plans for Two Daughters Bagels. Miller was not immediately available for comment.
“10 years in the military. 11 years in defense. And a lifelong obsession with finding a real New York bagel in Florida,” says an Instagram post published by Two Daughters Bagels. I never found it. So I built it. Two years studying the craft. The water chemistry. The fermentation science. The traditional techniques that made New York bagels legendary. Engineered NYC water chemistry. 36-hour cold fermentation. Kettle boiled. Oven bronzed. Over 6.5 ounces. No prior restaurant experience. No shortcuts. No compromises. This is the story of Two Daughters Bagels.”
That story enters its next chapter soon in the Paradise Shops of Largo!
