According to public filings, Don Goyo is building a new location at 8520 Camp Bowie West Blvd. The Mexican bakery, which started under the name Anakaren in 2007, is known for its authentic bread and pastries. Today, the bakery has two locations: one at 8751 Camp Bowie West Blvd., and another at 5120 McCart Avenue, which opened in January 2026. The bakery is targeting a December 2026 opening, pending construction progress and permitting timelines.
WhatNow Dallas spoke with Areli Orduno, who is assisting with the project on behalf of her father, Greg Orduno, founder of Don Goyo. She shared that the new project is a relocation and noted that the current Camp Bowie location will close. “The current area we have is a little hidden at the moment, but hopefully now that it’s going to be more noticeable on the corner, we can expand on all groups,” she said.
Orduno shared that the decision to remain in the same neighborhood was motivated by the support the business has received from the community. “We wouldn’t be where we are without the community and the people that keep trusting us to serve them,” she told WhatNow Dallas. According to Orduno, the surrounding Hispanic community has played a major role in the bakery’s growth and in building a loyal customer following.
After stabilizing the relocated store, the company plans to pursue additional expansion opportunities across the Dallas-Fort Worth area while continuing its goal of becoming a leader in the bread industry.
