Born IN Apparel LLC is expanding its brand footprint beyond Michigan, launching Born IN Louisiana through its first-ever licensing agreement.
According to a press release, the new apparel line will open storefronts on local Louisiana college campuses. It also plans to open its first location this summer, which will include an online store serving customers throughout the continental U.S.
The first store location and the launch of the online store will be announced soon.
Born IN Apparel said it intends to build on its Louisiana expansion by securing additional licensing partnerships across the country, with plans to enter more states over the coming year.
Founded in 2020, Born IN Detroit was established by brothers Anthony and Michael Tomey and George and Alex Bourkoulas, all of whom were born in Detroit. The Born IN Louisiana line will mark Born IN Apparel’s first licensing partnership.
Louisiana licensee partners Bradford Banta, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Stephen Van Hook from Jennings, Louisiana, partnered with the company after identifying similarities between the pride associated with the Born IN Detroit brand.
Banta told WhatNow Media Group that a specific opening date is not yet available but is being worked on. “Customers can expect quality apparel and cultural pride; while there isn’t an exact date, it will be soon, and we will communicate the opening date,” he said.
