East Coast bagel franchise PopUp Bagels has been exploding across the country, and now it has a new location on the way to the San Fernando Valley. It will open at 12184 Ventura Blvd in Studio City (@whatsnewsfv spotted “coming soon” signage up in the space).
The bagel franchise currently has only one spot in the Los Angeles area in Brentwood, with additional California locations in La Jolla and Oceanside.
Franchise group Sweetzer Capital, helmed by James Marzouk, is behind the Studio City location, according to a message Marzouk sent to What Now Los Angeles. Sweetzer Capital announced last year that it has inked a 25-unit franchise agreement to bring PopUp Bagels to Los Angeles and Orange County. The hospitality group has also partnered with Go Greek Yogurt, with plans to bring multiple locations to Southern California.
A spokesperson for PopUp Bagels declined to share further details at this time regarding the Studio City location. An opening timeline remains unclear.
PopUp Bagels began as a pandemic project for founder Adam Goldberg, and now the brand has grown to include 42 locations open across the country. There are many more locations in the works across the nation.
