Lincoln Beer Company, a Burbank-based craft brewery, is getting ready to open a new brewpub in Canoga Park at 8039 N. Deering Avenue.
The company’s new location is proposed for a light industrial property and would include an 8,116-square-foot brewery and brewpub, according to filings submitted to the Los Angeles City Planning Department. Lincoln Beer Company is seeking a Conditional Use Permit to allow the sale and dispensing of beer and wine for both on-site and off-site consumption. If approved, the venue would feature 169 indoor seats, a 1,500-square-foot uncovered patio with 100 outdoor seats, and daily operating hours from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Customers can expect a wide selection of craft beer along with a taproom-style experience.
Founded by brewer and owner Patrick Dunn, Lincoln Beer Company launched its production brewery in Burbank in 2016, followed by a public taproom in 2017. Dunn first developed an interest in craft beer while in college and later began homebrewing while working in the film industry. He eventually turned that passion into a business with support from his wife Laura and his father.
The proposed Canoga Park location marks the company’s latest expansion as it continues to grow its footprint in the Los Angeles area. The company has previously stated plans to open additional tasting rooms throughout the region. This will be an excellent landing space for Lincoln Beer Company, offering a larger venue that combines brewing operations with indoor and outdoor seating for customers.
Lincoln Beer Company has built a reputation around a diverse lineup of beers that includes lagers, pilsners, IPAs, red ales, stouts, and seasonal releases. Popular offerings include the 1861 Crafted Lager, Mosaic Pilsner, Railsplitter Red Ale, Hollywood Way IPA, and Vanilla Carousel Stout. The brewery has also earned recognition at competitions including the World Beer Cup, Great American Beer Festival, and California State Fair.
In addition to its core lineup, the company has partnered with recognizable brands and personalities on specialty products, including Duff Crafted Lager, inspired by The Simpsons, and Trejo’s Cerveza Mexican Lager, with actor Danny Trejo. The proposed brewpub would give customers another place to enjoy Lincoln Beer Company’s award-winning beers while expanding the brand’s presence beyond its current Burbank location at 3083 N. Lima Street.
