Madelyn Scarpulla, the owner behind Los Angeles Ninja Academy, is seeking to open a new location in Ventura. Scarpulla is requesting a permit for Ventura Ninja Academy at 4450 Dupont Court, according to a city council meeting agenda for the City of Ventura.

The academy would take over a 7,584-square-foot space in a 20,688 square-foot building. What Now Los Angeles reached out for additional information on the forthcoming concept and a potential opening timeline but is awaiting further details.

Scarpulla launched the brand in 2019. Modeled after the popular challenge game show “American Ninja Warrior,” the Los Angeles Ninja Academy offers a recreational space where children and adults can attempt and learn to overcome Ninja Warrior obstacles. The children’s classes focus on foundational skills, while the adult classes present more challenges but are designed for various skill levels. There are also one-on-one classes offered for more advanced athletes and those interested in becoming Ninja Warrior competitors.

Scarpulla also operates academies in Brooklyn and New York. Ventura would be the fourth location for the brand.
