Known for an iconic rooftop donut that has appeared in countless movies, Los Angeles-based Randy’s Donuts is preparing to open its second New York City location at 1183 2nd Ave., between East 62nd and East 63rd streets, in the Upper East Side. When the First Manhattan location opened in Greenwich Village in December, people waited in long lines for the chance to sample about 30 styles of donuts. TradedNY announced the lease on Instagram for the UES space in early June, and an opening date has not been announced. What Now New York has reached out for more information.
While Randy’s Donuts only recently arrived in New York, the doughnut chain operates locations all around the world, including in Saudi Arabia, Japan, and the Philippines. The opening of the first Manhattan location heralded the chain’s first presence on the East Coast. Randy’s Donuts is reportedly in the midst of an aggressive expansion plan.
