A prominent Boston restaurant group appears to be preparing its next venture in the South End.
According to a recent report from local photographer Bret Clancy, Broadway Restaurant Group is planning to open a new restaurant at 560 Harrison Avenue, taking over the longtime former home of Gaslight French brasserie.
Details about the concept—including its name, cuisine, and anticipated opening timeline—have not yet been released. However, city filings indicate plans for an expanded outdoor patio with seating for up to 152 guests. Filings also show that the restaurant will be designed by Boston-based boutique firm Assembly Design Studio.
The address has a storied history in Boston’s dining scene. Gaslight operated there for many years before closing in 2020. More recently, the space was home to Brasserie and, later, Marseille, both of which had relatively short runs.
Thanks to its convenient loading access, ramps, and adjacent parking, the property has also served as a filming location for several movies over the years.
Founded in 2012 by Eric Aulenback and his partners, Broadway Restaurant Group has built a wide-ranging portfolio of popular Greater Boston restaurants, including Dalia, Capri Italian Steakhouse, Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant, Capo Restaurant & Supper Club, Fat Baby Sushi, and Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar.
What Now Boston has reached out to the team for additional information and will share updates as more details emerge.
