IKEA U.S. will officially open its new Webster store on June 26, expanding its presence in the Houston metro area. The location marks IKEA’s 10th store in Texas and the company’s third Texas opening of 2026.

Located at the Center at Baybrook along Interstate 45, the store is designed to serve customers in Webster, Clear Lake, Friendswood, and surrounding communities.

Houston Metro Area Welcomes IKEA Webster

The new IKEA Webster spans a 93,000-square-foot area. The opening is part of IKEA’s ongoing expansion strategy across the U.S.

According to IKEA U.S. Interim CEO Rob Olson says the opening is part of its strategy to make its products and services more affordable, convenient, and accessible for customers. “We are proud to open our 10th store in the state of Texas as we continue to expand across the region,” said Olson.

The store is also IKEA’s second in the Houston metro area. “IKEA Webster reflects our continued investment in the region, and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the community at our grand opening,” said Fredrik Rabe, Market Manager for IKEA Houston.

To mark the occasion, IKEA will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, with special opening-day hours from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Following the launch, the store will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Inside the Store: Layout, Products, and Swedish Bites

IKEA Webster carries more than 7,000 home furnishing products, including approximately 4,800 items available for same-day purchase. Customers can browse fully furnished showroom displays and access design consultation services for a variety of home projects.

The store also has a Swedish food area with iconic IKEA dishes, such as Swedish meatballs, plant balls, hot dogs, and veggie dogs. The location will also feature an As-is department offering discounted and gently used items. The department focuses on discounted merchandise and product reuse.

Last year, IKEA introduced five Plan & Order Points with Pickup locations inside select Best Buy stores. IKEA’s stores, website, and pick-up service all provide a flexible shopping experience.

Founded on a vision of creating a better everyday life, IKEA offers affordable, functional, and well-designed home furnishings. Ingka Group is one of the largest IKEA retail operators, and today, it manages 414 IKEA stores in 32 countries, with 60 retail stores in the United States.
