Kasamar, a forthcoming seaside tavern concept, is getting ready to open in Hermosa Beach at 19 Pier Avenue.
The company recently submitted a liquor license application to the City of Hermosa Beach, with plans to take over the former home of Playa Hermosa Fish & Oyster Co. Restaurant. While an exact opening date has not been finalized, co-founder Stephanie De Los Santos tells What Now Los Angeles that the project is expected to open in August 2026. Customers can expect a coastal inspired dining concept centered around seafood, pub style dishes, and a full beverage program.
Kasamar is being developed by Stephanie De Los Santos and Christina Montoya, who bring hospitality and operations experience across the South Bay restaurant scene. The concept is currently in early stages, with limited details available beyond its branding and positioning as a seaside tavern.
Montoya, who has worked in the South Bay hospitality industry for more than two decades, most recently held experience at Vin Fork. According to the company’s website, she has managed multiple beverage programs in the region and is working toward sommelier certification. Her background includes leadership roles in chef-driven establishments and a focus on wine and beverage operations.
The website for Kasamar currently teases the upcoming concept without a full menu or opening timeline beyond its planned 2026 debut. The branding suggests a focus on coastal dining with an emphasis on approachable seafood and drinks in a relaxed tavern setting.
This will be an excellent landing space for Kasamar, given its location along Pier Avenue in one of Hermosa Beach’s most active dining corridors. The area continues to attract new hospitality concepts looking to serve both residents and beach traffic.
