Golden Temple Has Closed in Brookline

Golden Temple has closed its doors in Brookline, just outside Boston. The restaurant was known for blending classic American-Chinese cuisine. Its lively nightlife scene made it a favorite among locals.

In the social media post, the restaurant’s team gets nostalgic for the days spent serving the community. The team also thanked customers for supporting the restaurant for more than six decades.

It was also known for its use of fresh ingredients and hormone-free meats.

Popular menu items included General Tso’s chicken, crispy orange beef, barbecue ribs, and lo mein. The restaurant transformed into The E Room on weekends to create a bar featuring DJs and dancing.

Community’s Reaction

The closure prompted an outpouring of reactions from community members. Some said their goodbyes with memories of the place, while others gave their well wishes for the future.

One Facebook user wrote, “I’m devastated. I met my wife at Golden Temple 22 years ago. I have been a patron for almost 50 years. The Taw family has and is part of the fabric of Brookline forever!”

A Facebook user also wrote, “We spent so many family dinners at GT; it was one of my father’s favorites. When I found out I had Celiac 20 years ago, they always did such a great job making sure everything was celiac safe. Thank you to the wonderful family who made everyone feel like family at GT.”

Golden Temple bid farewell to the community, leaving a gap in the local dining scene in Brookline.
