Mikan bakery & more at 17237 Ventura Blvd. in Encino is the first bakery venture of JINYA Holdings. The concept is inspired by Founder and CEO Tomo Takahashi’s childhood in Ehime, Japan. The menu will include freshly baked breads, handcrafted pastries, specialty beverages, and citrus-inspired food items.

The name comes from the Japanese word for mandarin orange. Mikan bakery & more draws inspiration from local bakeries across Japan. The bakery will offer breads baked from scratch each day by pastry chefs recruited from Japan. Dine-in or takeout will be available daily from 7 am to 6 pm.

From July 3 through July 5, Mikan bakery & more will host grand opening celebrations. The event features a special collaboration with Boulangerie MAISON NOBU from Tokyo. Chef-owner Nobu Hoyo will join the opening weekend celebration to introduce four bakery items available exclusively during the event.

Mikan bakery & more will be led by baker Aya Asaumi. According to the company, its baked goods are made without additives or preservatives.

The bakery will also serve specialty drinks made from high-quality matcha and hojicha from Uji, Kyoto. Guests will also enjoy freshly made mikan juice and citrus-flavored beverages. The signature Mikan Matcha Latte is made with homemade mikan purée.

The collaboration also reflects the bakery’s broader mission of bringing authentic Japanese baking traditions to Los Angeles.

The opening marks JINYA Holdings’ expansion beyond its ramen restaurant business into the bakery segment. The Encino bakery is designed to showcase the style of neighborhood bakeries commonly found in Japan.
