Tiki Kai, a tiki bar that opened last year in Hermosa Beach, appears to have a new location in the works. A recent ABC filing indicates that a new location is planned for 8171 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood.
Tiki Kai comes from Southern California restaurateurs Dennis Doody, Brian Eldridge and Patrick Mescall. The team owns a variety of popular places across the South Bay area, including Eat at Joe’s in Redondo Beach, Torrance Tavern, Paddy O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Redondo Beach, The Sly Fox Irish Pub in Lawndale, The Bounty Room in Torrance, and The Hula Hula Room in Torrance.
Tiki Kai is designed to bring tiki culture to Southern California, offering premium rums, island-inspired cuisine and tropical decor. Menu items include Huli Huli Chicken, Pule Hu Steak, build-your-own pupu (appetizer) platters, ceviche, seafood dishes, cocktails, mocktails, wines and beers.
The West Hollywood location would mark a venture out of the South Bay for the Tiki Kai team, which operates the majority of its concepts in the Beach Cities.
What Now Los Angeles has reached out to the team for additional details regarding the expansion and opening timeline but did not hear back prior to the time of publication.
