Blo Blow Dry Bar is preparing to expand into the Phoenix market. While a location has not yet been selected, franchise owner Tia Wilson told What Now Phoenix she is currently focusing her search on the West Valley and hopes to open within the next year.
Founded in 2007, Blo Blow Dry Bar specializes in blowouts and makeup services. The company has grown to more than 140 locations across the United States and Canada.
Tia Wilson has spent more than 20 years in the beauty industry after earning her cosmetology license while still in high school. Alongside her work as a hairstylist, she also built a career in education, where she continues to work as a school counselor.
She said Blo’s mentorship program and franchise support played a major role in her decision to bring the brand to Phoenix.
The upcoming salon will be Tia’s first franchise, although she has operated her own hairstyling business for years. One of her priorities is building a team that reflects the diversity of the Phoenix community.
“I really hope to have a diverse group of stylists that can work with a diverse group of hair. Different ethnicities, different curl patterns, just where everyone’s welcome.”
She also hopes to partner with local beauty schools by recruiting recent graduates and helping them begin their careers through additional training.
For now, her immediate focus is securing the right location before moving on to hiring and training stylists.
