The team behind Rishi Sushi Kitchen & Bar is preparing to return to downtown Columbus with a new dining concept, according to Columbus Underground.
SAGE is expected to open this summer at 114 N. Third St., replacing the former Rishi Sushi restaurant, which closed earlier this year. The new concept comes from Sudhir Dubey and Chef David Kim, who founded Rishi in 2014.
While the owners hinted following Rishi’s January closure that a new project was in the works, the concept was officially announced this week through the restaurant’s social media channels.
“Act 2 is happening,” the announcement reads. “We need great humans to join us on this journey.”
According to the announcement, SAGE will offer a menu centred on elevated sushi and contemporary Asian-inspired cuisine. Beyond dining, the restaurant plans to host a rotating lineup of live entertainment and special events, including artist showcases, exhibitions, DJ nights, culinary pop-ups, cocktail and wine experiences, private celebrations, and chef tasting menus.
An exact opening date has not yet been announced, although the restaurant is targeting a summer 2026 debut.
What Now Columbus reached out to the owners for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
