A longstanding local wellness destination is growing.
South End spa étant is expanding into a larger space just a few doors down from its longtime home at 524 Tremont Street, where it will offer more treatment rooms and greater appointment availability while remaining on the same block. The business announced the expansion on Instagram, teasing what it called “a new chapter.”
“A new chapter for Étant is officially under construction,” wrote the team. “We can’t wait to welcome you into a space thoughtfully designed to inspire relaxation, well-being, and a little more room to breathe.”
The new location will feature additional treatment rooms and increased appointment availability. In a post shared to the South End Community Board Facebook group, the spa promised clients they’ll still be greeted by the “same team who knows your name (and your favorite pressure setting).”
Founded by Scott St. Cyr in 1998, étant has been a fixture of the South End wellness community for nearly three decades. In 2020, The Boston Sun reported that longtime spa director Stacy Koeppel and her husband, Seth Koeppel, purchased the business after St. Cyr decided to relocate to California. Having spent years helping run the spa behind the scenes, Koeppel was a natural fit to take over the spa.
Today, étant offers a full range of wellness and beauty services, including massage therapy, customized facials, acupuncture, waxing, eyebrow tinting, and lash lifts. According to the spa’s website, its mission is to provide a tranquil environment where guests can relax, recharge, and reconnect through personalized care.
Construction on the expansion is now underway, and the team says an official opening date will be announced soon. Until then, clients can follow @etantspa on Instagram for updates as the new space takes shape.
